Studio Policies
Lesson Info:
Remember to have music books, a folder for sheet music, a pencil (not a pen), and a notebook for weekly assignments ready for your lesson.

Voice students are encouraged to record the lesson for practicing (online students can do this through Zoom). Online students will need a second iPhone, tablet or digital voice recorder for playing accompaniments. Singers should have water available as well.
Don’t forget to practice. Students who spread out their practice over many days and work toward a specific goal tend to do better than those who just try to get a certain number of minutes in. Not all practicing has to be active. Looking over music, actively listening to recordings, working out music theory, translating, vividly imagining playing/singing, or remembering old songs, can be effective ways to practice.
Masking for in-person lessons is up to each student; I will be masked.
Tuition:
Ongoing lesson tuition holds your weekly lesson spot year-round
$172/month for 30 min, $258/month for 45 min, and $344/month for 1 hour; prorated so you have an equal monthly payment regardless of number of lessons.
Includes: 11 lessons per quarter and studio events throughout the year (recitals, studio classes, etc.).
Does not include: non-studio events (OMTA Festivals, NATS auditions, etc.), accompanist fees, books, sheet music, etc.
If you would like to stop lessons, please notify me at least 30 days in advance.
There are no refunds given if you choose to stop mid-quarter.
Ongoing, once or twice monthly lessons are available in non-prime spots $94/hr.
Drop-in lessons (short-term or non-weekly): $50/30 mins, $100/hour. This is not available to students under 18, who need more consistency. Students may participate in recitals and studio events with one or more lesson for each of the prior 3 months.
Tuition is due on the first of every month via autopay. You can set up or change automatic monthly credit card or ACH payments by logging in to the portal, rebeccaricemusic.com/login. (Scholarship students may have a different arrangement.)
There is a late fee of $10 for tuition paid after the 15th of the month.
Missed Lessons:
Tuition is not prorated for student-missed lessons or classes.
Teacher-missed lessons will be made-up on flex days indicated on the schedule.
Rescheduling (making up) a lesson requires canceling or rescheduling the lesson at least 48 hours in advance on the online portal (rebeccaricemusic.com/login). More notice is better.
If you’ve given at least 48-hour notice online, your lesson is converted to a makeup spot for another student and you'll be automatically given a makeup credit. To register for a makeup use the portal calendar “Find & Book” tab.
In the event of sudden illness please cancel online as soon as you can before the lesson, leave a note with the reason for missing, and I'll issue makeup credit.
Lessons not cancelled online are not eligible for a makeup credit (even if you emailed or texted).
Students may have up to 2 makeups issued in a quarter during the school year (Sept-Nov, Dec-Feb, Mar-May). The system won’t issue a credit if you’ve gone over. Credits expire after 120 days.
In summer (June-Aug) you can have as many makeups as you need as long as all makeups are completed by the end of August. Makeup credits reset on September 1.
Another option if you need to miss is to offer your lesson time to a family member or friend. They can take a voice, piano, or ukulele lesson (intro voice lessons work great if they don’t have an instrument or experience). Just let me know if you’d like to do this!
Are you going to be in a show? Have another temporary scheduling issue for more than 2 weeks? Need a new time? Let me know in advance so we can figure it out.
In-person lessons may be taken online at anytime. This is how we’ll manage inclement weather, too.
It's OK if scheduling conflicts come up from time to time, but please make your lesson time a priority. You may lose your regular lesson spot if you miss too much. It’s important to have a consistent schedule to make consistent progress.

Occasionally there may be videos or photos from lessons, recitals, or classes included in social media or for makeup purposes. Let me know if you or your child do not want to be included in public posts.
